a few things that have me smiling this week:

+ breakfast and bible study before the rest of the world wakes up.
+ winter(ish) weather.
+ reading just for fun.
+ the lickable appeal of whipped cream piled on top of chocolate mousse.

2026 is my year of choosing joy. not just waiting for it to happen, but actively seeking it out everywhere i look. and to hold myself accountable, i’m going to document it. welcome to my journal of the things that i delighted in this week:

slowly piecing together my 2025 year-in-review for the blog, and this photo of the kids with st. nick is for sure in my top five. 🎅🏼
grapevine’s @talkinganimalsbooks has got me dreaming about starting my own bookstore in downtown frisco again. maybe in 2026…? i love the witchy vibes and soon-to-be coffee bar in this one, and of course mine would have to include wine.
