Currently, I am...
Drinking: coffee. What else?
Loving: that it's a 4-day work week! What would I do without those 9/80s?
Reading: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Scott requested I read it so we could watch the movie together. I'm a few hundred pages in, and it's pretty good so far, but I have a feeling it's about to get real sad. The story takes place in Nazi Germany (which should tell you something) and the narrator is quite morbid...
Stressing over: the cost of my plane ticket to Europe. Flights to London in July are around $1,500 roundtrip right now, and I'm desperately hoping they'll go down a tad before I bite the bullet and purchase mine. Anyone have any tips for cheaper travel? I looked at flying into other places in the UK—like Ireland and Scotland—but they're about the same. Guess I'll just have to wait and see if I get lucky.
Thankful for: the arrival of May. The winter and spring months have flown by, thank God, and I'm so ready for all of the summer adventures to begin. Coming up on the calendar, I have: Memorial Day weekend in New Braunfels with the boy, a potential trip to New York City to visit my gal Alyssa (who landed an internship with Oxford University Press!), Scott's highly-anticipated move to Houston, Fourthapalooza lake weekend, the 20-day European tour with Kristen, and a short vacay in Switzerland to end my travel marathon. This is my last free summer to enjoy not having a full-time job, so I definitely plan on taking advantage of it.
Listening to: my stomach rumble. Why am I so hungry? I ate a perfectly good lunch only two hours ago. Gotta stick it out until I go home at 5pm.
Learning: how to create expense reports. Wooo, I'm growing up!
And a little bonus fun fact: Yesterday was Audrey Hepburn's 85th birthday (hence the amazing photo above of Hepburn grocery shopping with her pet deer, Pippin). She will always be the classiest lady in my book. And today is Cinco de Mayo! I'm cooking this Mexican dish tonight to celebrate.
Have any fun plans?
