A tradition is born.

Austin is full of hidden gems, just one of the many reasons why I love the city. Although it's only been about a month since I left, I couldn't stay away very long before road-tripping back with Kristen for a weekend visit. While Saturday was spent downtown with old friends, Sunday afternoon called for dessert and coffee with just the girls. So we stopped in to grab some sweet goodies at the new Royers Pie Haven on Guadalupe. This place, you guys...I kid you not, it's magical. The walls are so bright and cheery that I kind of felt like I was stepping into a Valentine's Day Card upon entering. After a long inner debate, I finally decided on Bob Pastorio's Cherry Pie topped with vanilla ice cream (because you can't eat pie without ice cream) and a regular coffee. Kristen and Alyssa both ordered Not My Mom's Apple Pie like the good American gals they are, and we all gobbled up our slices in less than five minutes. Needless to say, we'll be going back soon. (I'm dying to try their famous Sweet 'N Salty Pie next!)
