I will miss these days. Evenings spent by my mother's side on the big brown couch. Pajamas, blankets, mystery movies. Ice cream and dark chocolate. Early mornings on my father's lap. A warm coffee mug in my hands. Channel 13 news in the background while our conversations of faith and politics take precedence. Just the three of us, with all of our endless planning, arguing, and laughing.

Things will change, of course, like the color of the couch. And the flavor of ice cream. The issues we discuss, the city we find ourselves in, and even the company we keep. But one thing is certain. That feeling that I have now, the one that can only be described as unadulterated comfort, will always come back to me. Where there is family, there is home.
