I'm already looking forward to Easter.

Beginning today, Ash Wednesday, I will be giving up a few of my favorite things throughout the journey of Lent:

[Starbucks Coffee.]
[Candy of all kinds.]
[And soda.  But more specifically, Diet Dr. Pepper.]

Oh Lent, how bittersweet you are.  But I have to keep reminding myself that this holy time is not only about sacrafice.  It's about growing more intimately in my relationship with Christ by eliminating worldy distractions (and Lord knows that I get distracted very easily).  So my goal is to read Scripture every night instead of just saying my prayers and going to bed.  But without my daily doses of caffeine and sugar, I'll be lucky if I make it to 8:00pm without passing out...  Let's see if I can survive the next 40 days.
